Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Chandrima Bhattacharya, a prominent figure in the ruling Trinamool Congress, has voiced strong criticism against leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting that they lack the ability to respect women. Bhattacharya specifically pointed to the BJP leaders' alleged indecent comments while accusing the only female Chief Minister in Bengal.
She highlighted the recent instance where Prime Minister Narendra Modi used the term "Didi o Didi," suggesting that such remarks might hinder the BJP's electoral success, stating that the party might struggle to surpass 200 seats. In response to these perceived insults, Bhattacharya announced plans for a protest rally by the end of January.
